Monday morning travel impacted by heavy snow in Fort Collins and Denver area.

Fort Collins experienced significantly higher snowfall than forecast due to a heavy band of snow settling in the area early Monday morning. The National Weather Service is forecasting 1 to 4 inches of snow for Fort Collins on Monday, but some areas have already recorded up to 9.2 inches. The Fort Collins and Greeley area were added to the winter weather advisory due to heavy snow and strong winds. The snow is expected to move out later this morning, but the northeastern corner of the state may see 3 to 6 inches of snow and wind gusts to 40 mph throughout Monday. Highways in Northern Colorado and the far northeastern plains will be impacted by the storm.
