Record-breaking deluge in Upstate NY: Unprecedented rainfall measured across 400 sites

A record-breaking deluge of rain hit parts of Upstate New York, causing flooding and damage. The hardest-hit areas were in Central New York and Tug Hill, with Liverpool in Onondaga County receiving the highest amount of rainfall at 7.01 inches. Syracuse broke its August 7th record with 2.45 inches of rain, surpassing the previous record of 1.69 inches set in 1976.
