Record Heat and Excessive Heat Warnings Grip D.C. Area
TL;DR
Record high temperatures were set in the D.C. area today, with Washington reaching 101 degrees. An excessive heat warning is in effect for Monday, with heat index values potentially hitting 110 degrees. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms this evening and a better chance tomorrow. Rainfall over the next week may help slightly with drought conditions, but significant improvement is unlikely.
