"Severe Storms and Heavy Rain Threaten Flooding in Maryland and D.C. Area"

A flood watch is in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday for Washington D.C. and surrounding areas as rounds of showers and storms are expected to continue through tomorrow, potentially causing isolated flooding and strong to severe storms, especially in the afternoon and south of the city. Another inch or more of rain is forecasted to fall across the region, with some areas possibly receiving several inches, leading to the risk of flooding in urban areas and near streams.
