"Severe Weather Alert: Strong Winds and Heavy Rain Hit Southeastern States"

Strong winds are expected to continue impacting South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia through Wednesday following heavy rains. Wind gusts of up to 52 mph have been recorded, with sustained winds between 30 to 40 mph. The saturated ground and high winds have caused numerous trees to fall in the Upstate. Rainfall totals have broken daily records, with estimates ranging from 2 to 5 inches across the region.
