Severe weather threat looms over Northeastern US cities.

New York City and the Northeast are facing the threat of severe thunderstorms, including damaging winds, large hail, and possible tornadoes, as a line of storms moves out of Ohio. The storms are expected to arrive between 5-9 p.m. ET and could bring gusts over 60 mph. The NOAA's Storm Prediction Center has upgraded the severe weather risk for much of the Northeast, placing a large swath of the region in a Level 3 of 5 severe weather outlook. The tornado threat potential is primarily focused over New York City, New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, and northern Delaware. The storms will also bring a significant temperature drop.
