Stormy Weekend Ahead: Miami, Central Florida, and SW Florida Brace for Heavy Rain and Strong Winds

The National Weather Service in Miami has warned that South Florida, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, and the Florida Keys, will continue to experience tropical storm force-like wind gusts, heavy rainfall, and flooded streets over the weekend. Periods of heavy rainfall are expected, with up to 3 inches of rain in metro areas and 1 to 2 inches elsewhere. Gusty winds of up to 40 mph are also expected, along with potential hazards such as hail, lightning, high surf, rip currents, and coastal flooding. The Florida Keys will experience sustained winds and heavy rains until Saturday, with the heaviest downpours totaling 4 to 8 inches.
