Massachusetts largely avoided the brunt of a winter storm as the bulk of the precipitation stayed to the south, impacting areas in Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and New York City. Reports of significant snowfall, up to 11 inches in some areas, were received from Hartford, Connecticut, and more than 5 inches in a few communities in Rhode Island.
