"Get Ready for the Spectacular Solar Eclipse on October 14th: Tips and Preparations"
TL;DR
Houstonians will have the opportunity to view a solar eclipse on October 14, with Texas being within the path of totality for the first time in over a century. Although Houston is not in the direct path, preparations are still necessary, including obtaining proper eyewear and planning a viewing location. The Houston Museum of Natural Science is hosting an event providing ISO-certified eyewear and activities. ERCOT, the grid operator, is raising concerns about a potential reduction in solar power generation during the eclipse.
