R.J. Day chooses Northwestern, setting up a future Buckeye-Northwestern clash

R.J. Day, OSU coach Ryan Day’s son and a 6-foot-1, 205-pound quarterback from Columbus’s St. Francis DeSales, committed to Northwestern for the Class of 2027, choosing the Wildcats over offers from Purdue, Syracuse, Cincinnati and South Florida. Northwestern—coached by Chip Kelly, who has ties to Day’s family—will face his father’s Ohio State program in the Big Ten, and the Wildcats currently have eight quarterbacks on the roster.
