Ford's Electric Mustang Aims for World Record Speeds.

Ford has unveiled its latest prototype project, an 1800-horsepower electric Mustang, which it hopes will break the record for the fastest EV over the quarter mile and the fastest EV from 0-60mph. The Mustang Super Cobra Jet 1800 Prototype features a new lighter battery pack, a new transmission, a new rear-end setup, and new controllers and sensor systems to maximize power. Ford aims to beat its own quarter-mile record of 8.128 seconds at 171.97mph and the Pininfarina Batista's record for the fastest EV from 0-60mph. The company plans to attempt the record later this year.
