India Emerges as Key Player in Apple's Supply Chain Expansion

Apple's top suppliers, including Foxconn, Salcomp, and Pegatron, are on a hiring spree in India, looking to fill a range of full-time and contract-based roles at their assembly units. Foxconn alone has conducted 10 mass-hiring drives since March, and plans to quadruple the workforce at its Chennai plant to 70,000 in two years. The hiring boom is possibly motivated by the Indian government's flagship "Production Linked Incentive" scheme to boost manufacturing in the country.
