Beware of Scammers Impersonating Tech Giants on Facebook.

Scammers have hacked verified Facebook pages, including those of Meta and Google, and disguised them as official accounts. The hacked pages were approved to run ads across Facebook's network and directed users to click a fake Google or Facebook URL where they were brought to a bogus Google Sites page impersonating the company. The scam ads contained malware and it is unclear how many Facebook users have potentially fallen victim. All hacked Facebook pages have since been removed from the platform.
