Xbox Series consoles can once again run emulators in retail mode, thanks to a new method discovered by a group called UWeaPons Store. While the exact method is not publicly disclosed to prevent Microsoft from closing the loophole, users can access it by paying £2/$2 per month on Patreon. It remains uncertain if Microsoft will take action, but the method is currently working as intended. Browser-based emulators for various consoles were made accessible in late 2021, but hardware-based software is still the best option for running emulators on Xbox consoles. Developer Mode, available for a $20 fee, allows users to install development builds of software utilizing Universal Windows Platform.
