Microsoft's court documents suggest that Sony may release a "PS5 Slim" later this year for $399.99, followed by a more powerful "PS5 Pro" in the near future. These rumors align with previous reports of two new PS5 models, including one with a detachable disc drive launching in September 2023. Microsoft's upcoming 1TB Xbox Series S in Carbon Black is also scheduled for release in September 2023, possibly targeting the same window as the "PS5 Slim". Xbox boss Phil Spencer has previously stated that the Xbox Series X doesn't require an upgrade soon, but it remains to be seen if his stance will change.
