Rockstar Offers Free GTA V Next-Gen Upgrades Ahead of GTA VI Hype

Rockstar announced a free upgrade path for Grand Theft Auto V from PS4/Xbox One to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions starting June 18, featuring up to 4K resolution, HDR, ray tracing, enhanced textures/draw distances, and up to 60fps (with PS5’s 3D audio and DualSense haptics). Existing PC users can upgrade from Legacy to the Enhanced edition for free, while GTA Online’s Kortz Center Heist arrives in July. The move coincides with GTA VI’s upcoming November 19 release, and Rockstar notes GTA V’s story progress can transfer between generations; GTA+ members can access the story library as well.
