The Impact of Aerith's Fate in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
TL;DR
In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Aerith still dies, but the event is complicated due to the game's multiverse concept. The storyline involves multiple universes colliding, with protagonist Cloud perceiving various timelines simultaneously. Despite abstract storytelling, it's confirmed that Aerith is dead at the end of the game, but her existence in Cloud's mind remains unclear, leaving room for potential recontextualization in future installments.
