Xbox shovelware update spree adds 305,000 Gamerscore in 10 days, breaks records

As the mid-year cap on new Gamerscore resets, 305 shovelware titles received easy 1,000G updates from June 29 to July 7, injecting about 305,000 Gamerscore into the Xbox ecosystem (156 updates in one day). Leading the pack was Jolly Lobster Interactive with 71 updates. Since 2026 began, shovelware updates total around 916,000G, with last year’s total near 1.2 million. Critics say Microsoft’s 2023 changes failed and call for stronger action, including banning shovelware titles from the store.
