Half-Life 2 to Receive Stunning Ray-Traced Remaster

Nvidia has announced that Half-Life 2, the popular first-person shooter from Valve, will be receiving a remaster in the form of a mod that adds ray-traced graphics to the game. The mod, called Half-Life 2 RTX: An RTX Remix Project, is being developed by modders under the banner of Orbifold Studios, with early access granted to four top Half-Life 2 mod teams. The remaster will showcase Nvidia's proprietary technologies, including DLSS 3, Reflex, and RTX IO, and will feature rebuilt materials with physically based rendering, increased geometric detail, and improved textures. The release date for the remaster has not been announced yet.
