Amateur Diver Discovers Rare Prehistoric Mastodon Tusk Off Florida Coast

A Florida diver and lifelong fossil hunter, Alex Lundberg, discovered a rare and well-preserved mastodon tusk off the coast of Manasota Key. The tusk, potentially millions of years old, is a significant find as such well-preserved specimens are uncommon in Florida. Lundberg plans to keep the tusk unless it is deemed scientifically important by the Florida Museum of Natural History.
