Despite this, Apple remains the dominant player in the market, which is seeing growth as consumers are more willing to invest in high-end devices. The premium segment is expected to grow by 6% in 2023, capturing nearly a quarter of global smartphone sales and 60% of the revenue. This growth is partly due to the shift in consumer preferences in emerging markets, where high-end smartphones are becoming status symbols and are more accessible through promotions and financing options. Apple is not anticipated to release a folding iPhone until at least 2025.
