Apple Watch Live Rewind Won’t Sneakily Capture Audio, Apple Says

Apple explains Live Rewind on the Apple Watch (Series 12 and Ultra 4) records only the last 15 seconds of surrounding speech after a deliberate Digital Crown press; processing happens on-device with an S11 chip and Secure Enclave, and audio snippets are not stored or transmitted unless saved to Siri. The feature triggers audible chimes and on-screen indicators to alert bystanders, and snippets disappear 30 seconds after the display dims unless saved. Compatibility requires an iPhone 16+ (iPhone 16e is not supported) and will launch later this year, not available to users under 13.
