Google unveils Googlebooks, a five-model lineup of Android-powered premium laptops from Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Asus, with prices starting at $899 (Acer Googlebook 14) and climbing above $1,199–$1,299 for the rest. Specs include OLED 2.8k/2.5k displays, 16–32GB RAM, 256GB–512GB+ storage, and Snapdragon X Elite or Intel Core Ultra Panther Lake CPUs in a fanless chassis. They run Android apps natively via Play Store, feature Cast My Apps and Continue On, and integrate Gemini AI (Magic Pointer) plus Rambler voice input, plus Antigravity developer tools. Preorders are live now, with US shipping on Oct 4 and other regions on Oct 5. All models include a year of Google AI Pro and GeForce Now; success hinges on developer ecosystem and app availability.
