2023 Annular Solar Eclipse: Where, When, and How to See It

The 2023 annular solar eclipse, also known as the "ring of fire," will occur on October 14th and will be visible in parts of North and South America. Unlike a total solar eclipse, an annular eclipse leaves a ring of light around the moon due to its distance from the Earth. The eclipse will begin on the Oregon coast and cross over Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Central America, Colombia, and Brazil before ending over the Atlantic Ocean. Special eclipse glasses are necessary to view the event safely, and the best viewing spots are expected to be in southern Oregon, particularly around Klamath County.
