Ford has temporarily laid off 600 non-striking workers at its assembly plant in Wayne, Michigan, following the United Auto Workers' (UAW) strike against the Big Three automakers. The UAW launched targeted work stoppages at the plant, along with General Motors and Stellantis plants, after failing to reach a new labor agreement. The layoffs are a consequence of the strike, as the components built by these workers require e-coating in the paint department, which is on strike.
