UAW Autoworkers Reject Contract Deals at Ford and GM Plants

Workers at Ford's two Louisville vehicle plants voted against the proposed UAW contract by a narrow margin of 52% to 48%. This goes against the national trend, as the majority of UAW members have voted in favor of the deal so far. The inclusion of the Louisville votes brings down the overall percentage of UAW members supporting the contract to 65%. Despite the local opposition, UAW Local 862 President Todd Dunn believes the contract will still be ratified. The proposed contract includes wage increases and improved benefits for workers, but some long-tenured workers expressed dissatisfaction with the deal.
