Israel and Hamas have agreed to extend their cease-fire by at least 24 hours, just minutes before the initial truce deadline. The six-day pause in fighting has resulted in the release of almost 100 hostages, including Israelis and foreign nationals, as well as the release of Palestinian prisoners. Under the terms of the deal, three Palestinian prisoners are exchanged for every Israeli hostage. Qatar, a key mediator, has confirmed the continuation of humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza.
