Rivian Joins Tesla's Supercharger Network for EV Charging

Tesla's Supercharger network, which has over 45,000 charging plugs globally, including 17,000 in the US, will be joined by Rivian, Ford, and GM EVs starting in 2024. By 2025, the Tesla charging port will be built into Rivian, Ford, and GM EVs, eliminating the need for a Tesla-made adapter. The partnerships could yield up to $3 billion a year in revenue for Tesla, according to estimates. The Biden administration is spending $7.5 billion to build a national network of 500,000 EV chargers by 2030, though research firms have found many millions more will be needed to meet demand.
