PS5 Sales Skyrocket as Spider-Man 2 Hits 5 Million Copies Sold

Sony announced that Spider-Man 2 sold over 5 million copies in its first 11 days, with 2.5 million copies sold in the first 24 hours, breaking PlayStation sales records. PS5 hardware sales reached 46.6 million units as of September 30, with 4.9 million units sold in the latest quarter. The increase in console sales is partly due to improved availability. Sony's earnings report also revealed a delay in half of its upcoming live-service games, reducing the planned number of releases from 12 to 6. The PlayStation Network had 107 million monthly active users, and 67% of PlayStation games sold during the quarter were digital.
