Biden Seeks $105bn in Aid for Ukraine, Israel, and More

US President Joe Biden has requested over $105 billion from Congress to provide humanitarian and military aid to Israel and Ukraine, as well as humanitarian assistance for Gaza and immigration enforcement on the US-Mexico border. The funding request aims to advance America's national security and ensure the safety of the American people, according to National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. The request faces political challenges in Washington, with Republicans divided over further assistance to Ukraine. The largest portion of the package, over $61 billion, is allocated to Ukraine, followed by more than $14 billion for Israel, including funding for the Iron Dome air defense system. Over $9 billion is set aside for humanitarian aid in Ukraine, Israel, and Gaza, while nearly $14 billion is designated for US border enforcement.
