"International Efforts Intensify for Gaza's Postwar Recovery and Ceasefire"

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is seeking support from Middle Eastern countries to plan for the postwar future of Gaza, after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected calls for a humanitarian pause. Arab leaders are pushing for an immediate cease-fire, while Blinken warns that it could encourage more violence by Hamas. Blinken met with diplomats from Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, as well as a senior Palestinian official. He also visited Lebanon, where he thanked the Prime Minister for preventing the country from being pulled into the conflict. Blinken is set to travel to Turkey to meet with President Erdogan and discuss accountability for Israel's actions in Gaza.
