"Ukraine Downs Russian Bomber and Claims Air Defense Milestones Amid Escalating Conflict"
TL;DR
Ukraine's air defenders achieved two significant firsts by taking down a Russian Tu22M3 strategic bomber and hitting two Kh-22 hypersonic cruise missiles in flight, using a Patriot air defense system. However, seven people, including two children, were killed in the latest Russian salvo, which included a total of 22 missiles and 14 Shahed drones fired at Ukrainian targets. President Zelensky is expected to seek more air defense systems from NATO after these successful interceptions.
