Biden Breaks Tradition, Skips New Hampshire Primary Ballot

President Joe Biden will not file to be on the primary ballot in New Hampshire for the 2024 election, following guidance from the Democratic National Committee (DNC). The DNC released a plan to make South Carolina the first primary voting state, but New Hampshire law requires the state to hold the country's first primary. Although Biden's name will not be on the primary ballot, voters will have the option to write in his name. New Hampshire Secretary of State David Scanlan believes the state should maintain its first-in-the-nation status, citing its small size, media market, and high voter participation. Biden's campaign manager expects his name to appear on the general election ballot in November 2024.
