House Dems Split Over Iran Terrorism Designation in Nonbinding Vote

The House approved a nonbinding resolution declaring Iran the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism by a 372-53 vote, with all 53 opposing votes coming from Democrats (including AOC, Omar, Tlaib and Pressley) and two Democrats voting present. Some Democrats argued the resolution is inaccurate or could justify a war, while others defended a firm stance against Iran’s actions, and Republicans largely supported the measure in backing President Trump’s Iran policy.
