Guardians Bolster Roster with Waiver Claims of Giolito, López, and Moore
TL;DR
The Cleveland Guardians have claimed pitchers Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo López, and Matt Moore off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels. The Angels placed six players on waivers as they fell out of playoff contention. Giolito, who struggled with the Angels, had been a highly sought-after trade target earlier in the season. López has performed better with the Angels than his previous team, the Chicago White Sox. Moore has excelled as a reliever in recent years. The Guardians hope these additions will help them make a playoff push in the final month of the season.
