Apple Settles iPhone Battery Lawsuit, Begins Compensation Process

Apple can now begin paying out claims to members of a class action lawsuit who accused the company of deliberately slowing down iPhones with aging batteries. The United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit dismissed appeals from two individual members, clearing the way for payments to be sent. Apple settled the suit for a minimum of $310 million, up to $500 million, and consumers who owned certain iPhone models and filed their claim before the October 2020 deadline will receive a check for approximately $65.
