Apple is reportedly developing its own artificial intelligence large language model (LLM) internally, signaling the company's interest in advancing AI technology. The project, known as "Apple GPT," is being developed by a small team of engineers within Apple's AI foundation called Ajax. While Apple has been using machine learning in its products, it is considered late to the LLM trend compared to competitors like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon. Some Apple employees believe the company may make a significant AI announcement next year. Apple representatives have not commented on the report.
