Meta unveils Quest 3 VR headset for $499.99, set to release this fall.

Meta has unveiled its Quest 3 headset, starting at $499 for 128GB, which aims to push users beyond virtual reality with a heightened focus on mixed reality. The device promises a 40% slimmer optic profile compared to the Quest 2, double the GPU performance, and a physical interpupillary distance adjuster. The controllers abandon the "halo" construction and have the same haptic feedback of Touch Pro controllers. The Quest 3 will have two 4MB RGB cameras and, for the first time, a depth sensor. The device is Meta's most mixed-reality-y headset yet, but it's far from on par with what we're expecting from Apple.
