TikTok Enhances iPhone Security with Passkey Support and Password-Free Access

TikTok is introducing support for passkeys on iPhones, allowing users to sign in using Touch ID or Face ID instead of passwords. The feature uses Apple's native implementation of passkeys and saves them to the iCloud Keychain for use across other Apple devices. Passkeys are a more secure way to authenticate users, as biometric data is stored on the device and not accessible to TikTok. The feature is currently available for iOS devices and will be rolled out in Asia, Africa, Australia, and South America. Passkeys are becoming increasingly popular, with Microsoft, Apple, and other companies implementing them in their platforms. TikTok has also joined the FIDO Alliance, which aims to develop secure logins using cryptographic authentication.
