A powerful storm raced up the East Coast, causing at least two deaths, widespread flooding, power outages for about 775,000 customers, and flight disruptions ahead of the holiday season. The storm system, fueled by subtropical humidity and cooler air, produced record-breaking low air pressure readings and heavy rainfall. The East Coast, from Virginia to Maine, experienced strong winds, flooding, and power outages. Parts of New England remained at risk of flash flooding. The storm also battered Florida and the Carolinas, setting rainfall and storm surge records. The system has now moved towards Canada and the North Atlantic.
