Millions at Risk: Severe Storms and Tornadoes Threaten Texas to the Southeast

More than 20 million people from eastern Texas to the Southeast are at risk of severe thunderstorms, including strong tornadoes and damaging winds. An enhanced risk level has been issued for parts of eastern Texas, northern Louisiana, and central Mississippi. The storms may bring relief to drought-stricken Louisiana and Mississippi, but could also cause excessive rainfall. In addition, a storm that blew through the Rockies left heavy snowfall in parts of Utah, Nevada, and Colorado. High wind gusts are also expected in the West, with alerts issued for over 15 million people.
