Weekend Weather Update: Storms Winding Down, Cooler Week Ahead

Portions of west-central and southwestern Minnesota experienced showers and thunderstorms on Saturday, with the possibility of isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere in the state. A tornado watch was issued for three counties in southwestern Minnesota until 10 p.m. Heavy rain is expected in southwestern and south-central Minnesota on Saturday evening into Sunday. The Twin Cities metro area could see between one-quarter to three-quarters of an inch of rain on Sunday. Temperatures will be cooler, with highs in the 70s and 80s throughout the week. The U.S. Drought Monitor shows that a significant portion of Minnesota is experiencing drought conditions.
