Iran begins week of mourning as Khamenei funeral draws world leaders
TL;DR
Iran inaugurates a week of funeral ceremonies for late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, with his coffin in Tehran’s Grand Mosalla as top officials and dozens of foreign delegations attend. Authorities expect millions to join public mourning, starting with a Tehran ceremony and extending to processions in Iran and across Iraq. The events follow his death four months after a US-Israeli strike on Iran, and invitations to European countries are reportedly limited to neutral or friendly states.
