Ancient Fish Traps Discovered in Norway Lake by Hiker.

A hiker discovered 7,000-year-old fish traps in Norway's Tesse lake, which are the oldest of their kind in northern Europe. The traps were made of sharpened wooden poles and were likely funnel-shaped. The rising water levels submerged the traps before archaeologists could excavate them last summer. However, this year, archaeologists excavated four fish traps and unearthed more than 50 well-preserved wooden poles. The poles were pointed at the end and were driven into the lakebed with force. The ancient hunters who built and used these fish traps likely followed reindeer into the mountains.
