Archaeologists in Denmark have unearthed a 1,900-year-old runic blade buried beneath an urn grave, marking the oldest known runes in the country. The blade, dating back to around 150 A.D., is inscribed with the name "hirila," translating to "little sword" in Old Norse. It remains unclear whether the inscription refers to the blade's owner or the blade itself. This discovery follows a similar find in 1865, when a comb with a runic inscription was unearthed nearby. The knife is believed to have been a cherished possession of its owner.
