Bakhmut: A City Ravaged by War.

Russian forces have caused extensive damage to the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut after months of shelling, reducing most of it to ruins. Despite increasing their use of heavy artillery and air strikes, Ukrainian troops continue to stymie their ability to take full control of the city. The city holds little strategic value but has acquired political significance as both sides continue the bloodiest infantry battle since World War II.
