Controversy Surrounds Israel's Alleged Staging of Palestinian Surrender Footage

Israel's military has been accused of staging footage in northern Gaza, showing stripped Palestinian men surrendering weapons. The video, taken in front of a UN-run school, shows a Palestinian man identified as Moin Qeshta al-Masry handing over a gun in two separate clips, which were found to be two takes of the same video. An investigation suggests that Israeli troops temporarily armed a civilian for a "photo shoot" and raised questions about the authenticity of Israeli forces' claims. Last week, images and videos emerged showing Israeli troops detaining dozens of Palestinian men, stripping them of their clothes, and forcing them to sit lined up on the ground with their hands tied behind their backs. Among those detained were academics, journalists, teachers, students, and blue-collar workers.
