Escalating Violence: Gaza Militants and Israel Exchange Strikes.

Gaza militants launched rocket attacks into Israel following Israeli airstrikes that killed more than a dozen people. There were no immediate reports of injuries, but at least one house was burning, and more than a million Israelis were in shelters. The rocket attacks were carried out by Islamic Jihad forces, and there was no sign that Hamas was actively participating. Schools remained closed throughout Gaza and in Israel within about 25 miles of the border, with the Israeli Education Ministry activating its remote-learning programs.
