Escalating Violence: Islamic Jihad Fires Rockets at Jerusalem, Killing Israeli Civilian.

Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad fired rockets towards Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, marking the first time Jerusalem has been targeted in the current conflict. Talks for a ceasefire between Israel and Islamic Jihad are currently on hold. The Israel Defense Forces have struck 254 targets in Gaza, while Palestinian militant groups have launched hundreds of rockets towards Israel. At least 33 Palestinians in Gaza and one person in Israel have been killed in the violence. Gaza has suffered extensive damage, including demolished houses and a halt to formal schooling and fishing.
