Myanmar Military Airstrike Leaves Over 100 Dead in Pazigyi Village

More than 100 people are feared dead after an airstrike by the Myanmar military targeted a village in the north-western Sagaing region. The attack, one of the deadliest so far in the civil war, targeted a ceremony to mark the opening of an office for a local volunteer defence force. The military has increasingly used air strikes against their opponents since seizing power in February 2021, and has been accused of committing human rights abuses and war crimes. The UN has condemned the attack, and thousands have been killed in the conflict, with an additional 1.4 million displaced.
